The Universal Aspects
Being & Void
BEING refers to a phenomenon as separate or distinguishable from the divine nothingness, the first instant and subsequent continuum of existence as such. Being manifests at the emergence of the waveform that composes the given phenomenon, at which time it takes on “characteristics”, which themselves are subsidiary waveforms filtered through interaction with other phenomena. These “others” in turn perceive the waveforms and exert their own upon the being in exchange. Being, then, is also the first exposure to the static.
VOID refers to the absence of being, the primordial state in which a phenomena is not distinguishable from the divine origin, therefore lacking any form or function, and therefore fundamentally not existing. There is no waveform, and therefore there is no medium by which the would-be phenomenon can interact with other phenomena. If there is nothing to be perceived, then there is no thing. Existence, therefore, is relative, and without “properties” to which to be related, a thing does not exist. This is the divine nothingness, or void, the origin and ultimate “destination” of all phenomena – also referred to as the Noosphere.
Change & Preservation
CHANGE is a dominant aspect of the universe – the driving force behind such things as evolution and revolution. “Creation” and “Destruction” are merely human perceptions of “change”; in fact, “creating” one thing means to “destroy” another and vice versa. The “destroyed” form of something is itself the form of a new thing. “Progress” or “Regress” are also just forms of change, relative to the new relationship between the subject and its environment, i.e. its “fitness” or viability.
PRESERVATION is resistance to change, either within a subject’s own being, or by proxy, such as reproduction, replication, or propagation. Preservation is the dominant property of the state of being called “life”, manifest in survival instincts, and reproductive drives. But the essence of the preservational drive is deeper, more microcosmic than the actions of living things, and actually uses them as its mediums. Preservation occurs hierarchically; for example, a people may fight to preserve their nation. That nation may be necessary to preserve their family or their way of life. Those things may be necessary to preserve their individual well-being, and thus sustain their reproductive fitness, which itself is a mechanism used by genes to propagate. Genes are vessels for lesser patterns or “waves“, which also manifest in the cultural sphere by way of memes. At its most fundamental level, preservation is the drive of these waves to propagate themselves into the future. In this way, the force of preservation both composes and transcends all levels of being. As the universe moves towards equilibrium (perhaps that aforementioned “nothingness”), existing waves – in resistance – aim to perservere by means of propagation and or dominance, mechanical selection acting as a vehicle for change.
Harmony & Discord
HARMONY refers to the relationship between phenomena and occurs on small and large scales. If two or more phenomena (and how we define the boundaries between phenomena is relative) interact in such a way as to preserve themselves or change eachother in a way that “improves” their relationship to the external environment (also defined by relative boundaries), their relationship can be considered harmonious. Phenomena in harmony share some coincidence in waveform. Implicit here is that harmony also occurs hierarchically, such that it both determines and is determined by the greater and lesser relationships between encapsulating and constituent phenomena, respectively.
DISCORD refers to the relationship between phenomena and occurs on small and large scales. If two or more phenomena interact in such a way as to change one or the other or both in a way that “degrades” their relationship to the environment or either’s individual fitness, they can be said to be in discord. Phenomena in discord have opposing waves. In the same way as harmony, discord is hierarchical, its effects rippling both outward and inward with respect to scale.
Causality & Chaos
CAUSALITY refers to the tendency of phenomena both micro and macrocosmically to act in a chain of cause and effect. Modern science was founded on the idea that everything is deterministic, that knowing the beginning of existence along with the rules (e.g. the laws of physics), a complete picture can be created. Indeed all phenomena, which can be reduced to interactions between existential waves, function within a web of causality, and thereby exhibit some sense of “order”, i.e. an identifiable chain of influence between phenomena.
CHAOS refers to the property by which random behaviors are produced by deterministic systems. Where the “rules” were applied, but to an unexpected outcome, it was once merely attributed to a mathematical error or another aberration of some kind, but an understanding of chaos suggests that order within a system may itself be the aberration. Scientific intuition suggests that where there are fluctuations in a system, there is a general movement towards or about an equilibrium. Chaos theory suggests that this is not the case, that certain systems can continue to generate apparently random outcomes, but with small instances of order. Considering the relative scarcity of the phenomenon called “life”, and even more so “intelligent” life, it is possible that they arose from instances of chaos, a hiccup in the universe’s natural predispositions towards entropy and equilibrium.
